Rev. Susan Smith is a civil rights and social justice activist who has been the Assistant Executive Director of Exodus Homes and Associate Pastor of Exodus Missionary Outreach Church since 1997. Rev. Smith has a BA in Human Services from Western Illinois University, and 44 years of experience working in human services with special populations such as developmentally disabled, hearing impaired, severely disturbed adolescents and homeless people.

For the past 23 years she has devoted her life to the Exodus Movement, giving homeless recovering people returning to the community from treatment centers and prison another chance to learn a new way to live with God’s help. The Exodus Movement involves the church, the supportive housing program, the prison ministry. Rev. Smith is a leader in all three. She is well known throughout the state of N.C. for her ability to share the unconditional love of God and His unlimited power to save and transform lives and communities.

She has a daughter Rachael, a son James, and two grandsons Phoenix and Talon.
