I agree with former Mary McAleese, former President of Ireland, who said that was a “withering” statement from the CFD. I am encouraged that so many people from all walks of life have objected to it. We must remember that we only ask God to bless the couple. God will never refuse any blessing. In a marriage, the couple are the ministers, accompanied by witnesses. So let God be the one who loves us and blesses us. Let us not try to place limits on God. Let us now respectfully request that the offensive statement be withdrawn, so that justice can be seen to be done.
