I applaud all the Catholic bishops who courageously signed this statement. At great risk to your own standing in the Church and possibly to your own safety, you have taken a stand. I have always believed that it is not our place to try to change people. That is God's purview. We, as followers of Christ, are to love our brothers and sisters. That is the greatest commandment. That does not necessarily mean one supports certain behaviors. It does mean one demonstrates to others what God has done for them - acceptance, compassion, forgiveness, and that He will never abandon his children.
