I want to thank all the clergies and religious who are advocating the lgbt Catholics . As I am part of the lgbt community, I spent quite a number of years being afraid that I would be persecuted in church. It was just recently that I met a priest who told me that God loves me and died not just for a group of person but everyone including me , including the lgbt community. He said there was nothing wrong I did , I am just loving another person. I am also so blessed to know a friend who is in the seminary who loves me for who I am too. I have known three wonderful priests who have accepted me for who I am and have not condemned me . I think that it has given me a whole new perspective of how amazing God's love is for me and everyone He has made.

While not LBGTQ, I still had a very hard childhood and adolescence. My local parish embraced me and kept me going. Thank you for loving our young people and giving them hope.
On behalf of the Peace and Justice Coalition at St Patrick in Urbana, Illinois and our LGBTQ+ ministry, we are extremely grateful for your leadership and witness to the Catholic Church and the world at large. We desperately need this pathway forward in loving one another and treating one another with full dignity and respect. On behalf of my son, a daughter, a grandson, a godson gay and given to me by the God of Creation to be in my care...God honored me with them and many beautiful gay friends because he knew I would love them. My son is in heaven with God and he knows the truth. He is in a place loved and protected. His church never welcomed him but there were a few priests who did. His family adored him as well. You have done a good thing...a beginning.

May God protect the most vulnerable amongst us. As the archbishop of Indianapolis, has made clear, the LGBTQ people aren’t welcome. I’m not LGBTQ, but feel that they deserve the sacraments as much as anyone else. How dare the church deprive and dangle the sacraments from the flock.

Thank you for taking this action. I never understood anti-homosexuality. The Bible is overwhelmingly “pro-love,” so why would a particular kind be considered evil or sinful? The Bible’s strictures against homosexuality are never in the context of romantic love. In fact, in several places it is explicitly in the context of prostitution in pagan temples. Maybe that’s the way it is intended to be understood.
